Lower Garden District: Thalia

Lower Garden District is a paired abstract series inspired by the quiet renaissance of one of New Orleans' most storied neighborhoods. Named for the streets Constance and Thalia, these works layer soft geometric forms with weathered brushstrokes, echoing the shifting architecture and evolving spirit of the district.

Pale gold and dusty blue emerge from earthen shadows, suggesting rebirth through light, space, and memory. Together, the compositions reflect both the city's rooted past and its graceful step into the present.

The paired abstract set Constance and Thalia draw their inspiration in the fresh renaissance now enveloping the New Orleans Lower Garden District and the enduring streets which share their names. This stately neighborhood was originally founded in 1830's by Americans migrating to the former French colonial capital in the promise of the Louisiana Purchase. These compositions celebrate the embrace of contemporary generations to this once abandoned corner of the fabled city. Earthen tones with haunting shadows are slowly overcome by the emerging brightness of lively bluish and golden hues.
